MDM PHOTO

      Manuel was born in Portugal and, influenced by his mother, who brought a camera everywhere she went, started to take pictures with an automatic camera at a young age. At 16 he was given his first manual camera, an old folding model. The only advice that came with the camera was to buy a light meter. This was the beginning of wonderful experiences for Manuel in the world of photography. Some of the first things that he was entrusted with were the copying of old family pictures. This led him to build his own darkroom at age 19.
 
      Nowadays, Manuel gives conferences on portraiture with available light and electronic flash, as well as the art of pinhole photography with light painting techniques. Occasionally, he teaches some computer-aided photo-retouching strategies and creative thinking.
